Hank Grishman Honored As World Language Advocate

Jericho Superintendent Hank Grishman was recently honored by the Foreign Language Association of Chairpersons and Supervisors (FLACS) with the Central Office World Language Advocate Award.

In her recommendation letter, Jericho’s Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Barbara Bauer said, “In the face of budgetary caps, reductions of professional staffs and reorganization among most district on Long Island, Hank has remained firm in his beliefs that students should be afforded opportunities not only to study languages, but must also be able to experience them.”

In his speech, Grishman spoke about his philosophy of supporting language study K-12.
