The Jericho School District is pleased to announce that 16 Jericho High School students were recently named semifinalists and 32 students were named Commended Students in the annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Approximately 1.5 million high school students take the PSAT each year.  Of those, 50,000 (3.3%) are Commended Scholars, and 16,000 (1.1%) are chosen as National Merit Scholar Semifinalists. 

 

Jericho High School students Andrew Cheung, Rebecca Cho, Pranav Dendukuri, Ian Jeon, Andrew Lee, Claire Lee, William Lee, Lily Li, Joey Liu, Himani Mehta, Daniel Rosenthal, Mackenzie Setton, Anshul Vemuri, Wesley Wang, William Zhang, and Evelyn Zhu were named Semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program. These scholastically talented students now have the opportunity to compete for many scholarships that will be offered next spring.

 

Thirty-two Jericho High School students were named Commended Students in the National Merit Scholarship Program. They are: Robin Bank, Rishab Bhatia, Kyle Chan, Ashley Chen, Douglas Chen, Willian Chen, Derek Chu, Jacob Crossman, Joanne Gosal, Paul Huang, Min Hur, Harrison Kane, Ryan Lam, Steven Lee, Sydney Lesnick, Judson Levi, Jason Li, Esther Lin, Renee Lin, Jiaqi Lu, Cherie Ma, Claire Ma, Blake Mayourian, Dylan Patel, Janice Rateshwar, Ethan Wang, Chu-Yin Weng, Oscar Yan, Bilge Yildiz, Naomi Yu, Ethan Zhang, and Angela Zhu.
